There are 3 main areas that sold me on WordPress, and here they are (in no particular order):
(This website contains affiliate links, which means that I may, at no additional cost to you, earn a small commission if you make a purchase. All affiliate links are used to keep theoilyanalyst.com up and running! Read my full disclosure policy here.)
WordPress is SO MUCH more user-friendly! I had so many issues, on blogger, trying to set a good featured image for my posts. It was just a real big CF over there! Plus, I think things would get messed up because of the .html extension, but I could be wrong about that? With WordPress, all you have to do is go to the bottom right-hand corner of the “New Post” screen, and choose your Featured Image! You can even edit the image and select the size that you would like it to be! So. Much. Easier!
Blogger’s interface is not very user-friendly, in my opinion. I had to fish around, under all of the options, to find out what I was looking for. With WordPress, everything seems to be very clear in the interface. There have been a few times, where I did not know where an option was located, but I was able to find it with ease.
There are so many more features on WordPress than on Blogger. I did not notice that Blogger had all of these free plug-ins (i.e. MailChimp, Yoast SEO, BuddyPress, etc.), let alone ANY plugins at all! Maybe I did not spend enough time looking around on Blogger? I am a very impatient person, so maybe I just did not look hard enough, lol.
No Strange Errors
With Blogger, I would always get some kind of error when I would open my blogging site, from a different computer than it was created on. I do not remember the exact error, but it was just odd. It did not seem to affect any Blogger functionality; however, I just always felt uneasy changing posts and pages, on my blog, when I was not on my “home” computer. WordPress does not give me any error messages, no matter what computer I am currently working on, so that’s a plus in my book!
I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but I pride myself on “short, sweet, and to-the-point” blog posts, so I am going to wrap this one up right here! If you’d like to learn more, email me or comment on this blog post! Oh! And if you are looking for a host for your blog, check out BlueHost! Click on the banner right below this paragraph! It is an affiliate link. It does not cost you extra to go through an affiliate link. Thanks for visiting! 🙂
